A Thief Astarion is far better able to take advantage of Uncanny Dodge and the recklessness it enables. Once Astarion hits level five and acquires Uncanny Dodge, you'll be able to more safely send him into the fray - don't be too tempted by this, as your ranged spell options are still fantastic and Astarion's flexibility flounders a little if he's thrust into too much danger. We don't increase Astarion's Intelligence as there are items that can improve it for us.Baldurs Gate 3 is already a hugely popular game and it would certainly be worth it for the clicks. Ray of Frost is useful for interacting with elemental surfaces. This build gives Astarion a lot more to do in the midst of battle than fish for Sneak Attacks.Increase your Dexterity and Wisdom by 1 point each, bringing both stats to the next breakpoint. For Spells, take Tasha's Hideous Laughter and Sleep as your Illusion/Enchantment spells and either Magic Missile or Grease as your free spell. For Cantrips, take Poison Spray and Ray of Frost. This comes with Cantrips and Spells to learn, with some spells requiring either the Illusion or Enchantment schools. Flight will let Astarion get around the map far easier, possibly surpassing even Misty Step, which Astarion would be able to use if he took the Arcane Trickster subclass instead. Once you have allies who know how to cast Fly, Astarion makes for a great character to use it on. Prior to taking the Dual Wielder feat, you must make sure that your weapons both have the Light trait. You should be wielding two Finesse weapons, such as daggers, rapiers, or shortswords. With two weapons in your hands, you should be pumping out a ton of attacks per turn, especially with Fast Hands by your side. This build comes online at level four, turning Astarion into a fantastic Dual Wielder - as fantastic as is currently possible, at least.Thieves get Uncanny Dodge at level five, letting Astarion take only half damage when being struck by a normal attack.Fast Hands gives you an extra Bonus Action per round. This comes with Fast Hands and Second-Story Work.
